Elizabeth Kohn launched her eponymous design practice in 2010 after fifteen years in the profession. Ms. Kohn began her career at the acclaimed firm Cullman & Kravis after graduating from Sotheby’s Fine & Decorative Arts Graduate Program. She completed her undergraduate degree in American Studies with a focus on Art & Architecture from Georgetown University.
Elizabeth looks at design from a holistic viewpoint, striking a balance between architecture, function, light, comfort, and beauty. She possesses an awareness that personal, familial, and work needs are constantly changing. She believes that by shifting aspects of a home, greater harmony and balance can be achieved.
"As we spend more time in our homes, our needs continue to shift. Our homes serve so many different roles these days and thus we make practical adjustments for it to help serve us better. Ideally, when we make those functional adjustments while in the framework of beauty & design, our homes become sanctuaries offering support that allow us to stay in our flow."
Over the arc of her experience, she has developed a comprehensive grounding in residential interiors and recently designed commercial projects like The Class by Taryn Toomey and Playboy Enterprises. Elizabeth is a world traveler which also influences her design. She works across a wide range of styles and brings her unique perspective to each project while engaging with the specific requirements of the client and space.
